Yes, children aged 5+ are allowed to use the sauna but only under the following conditions to ensure their safety:
- Private Hire Only: Children in this age group may use the sauna exclusively during private hire sessions.
- Adult Supervision: A responsible adult or guardian must accompany and supervise the children at all times while they are in the sauna.
- Age Limit: Please note, children under 5 are not permitted to use the sauna.
Use of the sauna is done so at your own risk. We ask that you contact your GP if at all in doubt about safely using the sauna.
If any of the below apply to you (please note, this is not a comprehensive list) we advise you to seek your GP’s advice:
– If you’re pregnant
– If you’ve had a heart attack or stroke
– If you’re taking any medications
– If you have cardiovascular conditions and/or problems
– You have epilepsy
– You have asthma or breathing conditions
– High or low blood pressure
– If you have arterial disease
– If you have joint or muscle injury
Swimwear must be worn at all times.
- Swimwear (under clothing for ease)
- Water shoes (for comfort if accessing the water)
- 2 x towels ( one to sit on and one for drying off)
- Water bottle (keep hydrated at all times)
- Sauna hat (if you have one….we have spares)
We recommend staying in the sauna for no longer than 15 minutes per round, with a maximum of 20 minutes. After each round, take a few minutes to rest and cool down, or take a dip if you like (at your own risk), and then feel free to repeat the process. Enjoy the cycle at your own pace and listen to your body.
We recommend arriving about 10 minutes before your sauna session. This will give you enough time to settle in, get changed, and receive a quick briefing before your session begins.
Given our limited space in our “hanging area”, we recommend bringing only essential personal items. You can leave your belongings in the changing area, though please note they will be stored at your own risk. While we don’t have lockers, you’ll have your own hook for hanging items and a shelf for smaller belongings. If you have extra items that don’t fit in the changing area, they’ll need to be left outside.
For your safety, we kindly ask that you do not add logs to the stove. The stove becomes extremely hot during the session, so please avoid touching the rocks, stove, or opening the door at any time. The sauna host on-site will handle everything to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Yes, you can gently pour water on the rocks using the ladle we provide. However, we kindly ask that you avoid “water dumping”, throwing large amounts of water on the rocks at once, as this lowers the sauna temperature and affects the experience for future guests. Instead, embrace the löyly (steam) as they do in Finland, where this moment is considered deeply spiritual. Enjoy the gentle hiss and the connection it brings.
Free parking is available behind the Boathouse Restaurant as you enter the Watersports area.
The sauna is situated to the right of the restaurant as you face the loch just a few metres walk from the water. There is a ramp for easy access and suitable for some disabled
If you’ve misplaced an item during your visit, please contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to assist you in locating it. You can reach out via WhatsApp or email, providing a description of the item and when you last had it.
We keep all lost and found items for a period of 30 days. After that, unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity or discarded.
